Who We Are.
Carrie’s TOUCH is a national nonprofit whose mission has always been to humanize Black women and their experiences with breast cancer. In operation for nearly two decades, we are one of the oldest breast cancer organizations solely focused on the support and outcomes of Black women and men thriving beyond breast cancer.
in TOUCH.
A longtime and trusted community leading organization, Carrie’s TOUCH is literally about changing lives. We boldly and fearlessly stand on the frontlines daily for Black women. As we look to the next twenty years, we are reimagining not only who we are and what we do — we are changing the narrative to include, “Black women can and do live well.”
Our groundbreaking app — designed by and for Black women surviving breast cancer — provides tangible support, including connections to support groups, financial resources, oncologists of color, low cost therapy, affirmations, and more. Currently available in the iOS Apple Store. Coming to Android soon.
Black women have a 41% higher breast cancer mortality rate than White women. We are committed to shift the needle and shift this narrative. Join the challenge to #RuntoEndthe41 now!
Project SOAR is a community-academic research partnership with UCLA. The first of its kind, Project SOAR uplifts the voices of Black women to better understand the Strong Black Woman schema in the breast cancer context.
You are not alone, Sis.
Finding out you have breast cancer sucks. Finding out you have breast cancer while Black–sucks even more. If you’re a Black woman living with breast cancer and need support, resources, encouragement, or just a conversation, you’re in the right place. We’re helping Black women thrive. When Black women thrive, the world thrives.
